38 Then he said to them, “I’m very sad. It’s as if I’m dying. Stay here and keep alert with me.” 39 Then he went a short distance farther and fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if it’s possible, take this cup of suffering away from me. However—not what I want but what you want.”
40 He came back to the disciples and found them sleeping. He said to Peter, “Couldn’t you stay alert one hour with me?

38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow(A) to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”(B)
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup(C) be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”(D)
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me(E) for one hour?” he asked Peter.

39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
40 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?
