²⁷ Then he took a cup,^(A) and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. ²⁸ This is my blood of the^[a] covenant,^(B) which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.^{(C) 29} I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you^(D) in my Father’s kingdom.”

³⁰ When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.^(E)

³¹ Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me,^(G) for it is written:

³² But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”^(I)

²³ Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, and they all drank from it.^(A)

²⁴ “This is my blood of the^[a] covenant,^(B) which is poured out for many,” he said to them. ²⁵ “Truly I tell you, I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God.”^(C)

¹⁸ For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”

²⁰ In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant^(A) in my blood, which is poured out for you.^[a]
