30 When they had sung the hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.(A)
Peter’s Denial Foretold
31 Then Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away[a] because of me this night, for it is written,
‘I will strike the shepherd,
and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’(B)
32 “But after I am raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”(C) 33 Peter said to him, “Even if all fall away[b] because of you, I will never fall away.”[c] 34 Jesus said to him, “Truly I tell you, this very night, before the cock crows, you will deny me three times.”(D) 35 Peter said to him, “Even though I must die with you, I will not deny you.” And so said all the disciples.(E)

Jesus Predicts Peter’s Denial(B)
31 Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me,(C) for it is written:
32 But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.”(E)
33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”(F)
35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you,(G) I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.
