²⁹ Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,^(A) for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.^{(B) 30} For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”^(C)

The Wise and Foolish Builders^(A)

²⁴ “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice^(B) is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

⁵ While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.^(A) Listen to him!”^(B)

²¹ Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.^(A) The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,^(B) and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

¹⁰ If you keep my commands,^(A) you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. ¹¹ I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.^{(B) 12} My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.^{(C) 13} Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.^{(D) 14} You are my friends^(E) if you do what I command.^(F)

⁵ We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God,^(A) and we take captive every thought to make it obedient^(B) to Christ.

⁸ Son^(A) though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered^{(B) 9} and, once made perfect,^(C) he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him ¹⁰ and was designated by God to be high priest^(D) in the order of Melchizedek.^(E)
