² They bound him, led him away, and handed him over to Pilate the governor.^(A)

¹³ The God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob,^[a] the God of our ancestors, has glorified his servant^[b] Jesus, whom you handed over and rejected in the presence of Pilate, though he had decided to release him.^(A)

¹⁹ then they will hand him over to the gentiles to be mocked and flogged and crucified, and on the third day he will be raised.”^(A)

¹³ In the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you^(A)

Repent or Perish

13 At that very time there were some present who told Jesus^[a] about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.^(A)

³ Remember those who are in prison, as though you were in prison with them, those who are being tortured, as though you yourselves were being tortured.^[a]

⁹ for which I suffer hardship, even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But the word of God is not chained.^(A)

²⁰ For this reason therefore I asked to see you and speak with you, since it is for the sake of the hope of Israel that I am bound with this chain.”^(A)

²⁷ After two years had passed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus, and since he wanted to grant the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison.^(A)

²⁹ Immediately those who were about to examine him drew back from him, and the tribune also was afraid, for he realized that Paul was a Roman and that he had bound him.
