⁴⁶ and said to them, “Thus ^(A)it is written, ^(B)that the Christ should suffer and on the third day ^(C)rise from the dead,

^22 (A)To this day I have had the help that comes from God, and so ^(B)I stand here testifying both to small and great, saying nothing but what ^(C)the prophets and Moses said would come to pass: ^23 (D)that the Christ ^(E)must suffer and that, ^(F)by being the first ^(G)to rise from the dead, ^(H)he would proclaim ^(I)light both to our people and to the Gentiles.”

Temptations to Sin

⁷ “Woe to the world for ^(A)temptations to sin!^{[a] (B)}For it is necessary that temptations come, ^(C)but woe to the one by whom the temptation comes!

³ For ^(A)I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died ^(B)for our sins ^(C)in accordance with the Scriptures,

² And Paul went in, ^(A)as was his custom, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them ^(B)from the Scriptures, ^3 (C)explaining and proving that it was necessary for ^(D)the Christ to suffer and ^(E)to rise from the dead, and saying, “This Jesus, whom I proclaim to you, is the Christ.”

^12 (A)While I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given me. I have ^(B)guarded them, and ^(C)not one of them has been lost except ^(D)the son of destruction, ^(E)that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
