^23 (A)Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There he is!’ do not believe it.

⁸ And he said, ^(A)“See that you are not led astray. For ^(B)many will come in my name, saying, ^(C)‘I am he!’ and, ^(D)‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.

^23 (A)And they will say to you, ‘Look, there!’ or ‘Look, here!’ Do not go out or follow them. ^24 (B)For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be ^(C)in his day.^[a]

²¹ And ^(A)then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘Look, there he is!’ do not believe it.

13 “If a prophet or ^(A)a dreamer of dreams arises among you and gives you a sign or a wonder, ² and ^(B)the sign or wonder that he tells you comes to pass, and if he says, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ ³ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams. For the Lord your God ^(C)is testing you, to know whether you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

⁴³ I have come ^(A)in my Father's name, and ^(B)you do not receive me. ^(C)If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.
