¹² And having been warned^(A) in a dream^(B) not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.

²² But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream,^(A) he withdrew to the district of Galilee,^(B)

¹⁹ While Pilate was sitting on the judge’s seat,^(A) his wife sent him this message: “Don’t have anything to do with that innocent^(B) man, for I have suffered a great deal today in a dream^(C) because of him.”

The Escape to Egypt

¹³ When they had gone, an angel^(A) of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream.^(B) “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”^(C)

¹⁷ The midwives, however, feared^(A) God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do;^(B) they let the boys live.

⁷ By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen,^(A) in holy fear built an ark^(B) to save his family.^(C) By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.^(D)
