⁴ Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.^(A)

¹¹ For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”^(A)

¹⁰ Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.^(A)

⁴³ Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,^(A)

¹¹ The greatest among you will be your servant.^{(A) 12} For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.^(B)

⁵ In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves^(A) to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility^(B) toward one another, because,

⁴⁸ Then he said to them, “Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me.^(A) For it is the one who is least among you all who is the greatest.”^(B)

²⁶ Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,^{(A) 27} and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—
