The Twelve Apostles

¹² In these days ^(A)he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.

⁴⁶ And after he had taken leave of them, ^(A)he went up on the mountain to pray.

⁴ But ^(A)we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”

Jesus Prays in Gethsemane

^36 (A)Then Jesus went with them ^(B)to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here, while I go over there and pray.”

⁶ But when you pray, ^(A)go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. ^(B)And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

^15 (A)Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus ^(B)withdrew again to ^(C)the mountain by himself.

Jesus Walks on Water

¹⁶ When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, ¹⁷ got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
