⁵⁰ For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven^(A) is my brother and sister and mother.”

²¹ He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”^(A)

³⁵ Whoever does God’s will is my brother and sister and mother.”

¹⁴ You are my friends^(A) if you do what I command.^(B)

²¹ Therefore, get rid of^(A) all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you,^(B) which can save you.

²² Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.^(C)

¹¹ Both the one who makes people holy^(A) and those who are made holy^(B) are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.^{[a](C) 12} He says,

¹³ And again,

And again he says,

¹⁴ Since the children have flesh and blood,^(G) he too shared in their humanity^(H) so that by his death he might break the power^(I) of him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil^(J)— ¹⁵ and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear^(K) of death. ¹⁶ For surely it is not angels he helps, but Abraham’s descendants.^{(L) 17} For this reason he had to be made like them,^[e](M) fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful^(N) and faithful high priest^(O) in service to God,^(P) and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.^(Q)

²⁹ Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe^(A) in the one he has sent.”^(B)

¹⁰ Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers^(A) to go to Galilee; there they will see me.”

¹⁷ The world and its desires pass away,^(A) but whoever does the will of God^(B) lives forever.
