⁴⁹ Pointing to his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers.

³⁴ Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, “Here are my mother and my brothers!

¹⁷ Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers^(A) and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father^(B) and your Father, to my God and your God.’”

¹⁸ Mary Magdalene^(C) went to the disciples^(D) with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

¹⁹ On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders,^(E) Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace^(F) be with you!”^{(G) 20} After he said this, he showed them his hands and side.^(H) The disciples were overjoyed^(I) when they saw the Lord.

Jesus Prays for All Believers

⁷ Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee.^(A) There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
