¹³ For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.^(A)

The Fulfillment of the Law

¹⁷ “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.^{(A) 18} For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.^(B)

Righteousness Through Faith

²¹ But now apart from the law the righteousness of God^(A) has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify.^(B)

²⁷ The people of Jerusalem and their rulers did not recognize Jesus,^(A) yet in condemning him they fulfilled the words of the prophets^(B) that are read every Sabbath.

²² For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.^{(A) 23} Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’^[a](B)

²⁴ “Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets^(C) who have spoken have foretold these days.

⁴⁴ He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you:^(A) Everything must be fulfilled^(B) that is written about me in the Law of Moses,^(C) the Prophets^(D) and the Psalms.”^(E)

²⁷ And beginning with Moses^(A) and all the Prophets,^(B) he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.^(C)

⁶ He will turn the hearts of the parents to their children,^(A) and the hearts of the children to their parents; or else I will come and strike^(B) the land with total destruction.”^(C)

⁴⁶ If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.^{(A) 47} But since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?”^(B)
