^13 (A)For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John,

Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

^17 (A)“Do not think that I have come to abolish ^(B)the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but ^(C)to fulfill them. ¹⁸ For truly, I say to you, ^(D)until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

²¹ But now ^(A)the righteousness of God ^(B)has been manifested apart from the law, although ^(C)the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it—

²⁷ For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because ^(A)they did not recognize him nor understand ^(B)the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, ^(C)fulfilled them by condemning him.

²² Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you ^(A)a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen ^(B)to him in whatever he tells you. ²³ And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet ^(C)shall be destroyed from the people.’ ²⁴ And ^(D)all the prophets who have spoken, from Samuel and those who came after him, also proclaimed these days.

⁴⁴ Then he said to them, ^(A)“These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, ^(B)that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.”

²⁷ And ^(A)beginning with ^(B)Moses and ^(C)all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

⁶ And he will ^(A)turn the hearts of fathers to their children and the hearts of children to their fathers, lest I come and ^(B)strike the land with a decree of utter destruction.”^[a]

⁴⁶ For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for ^(A)he wrote of me. ⁴⁷ But ^(B)if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?”
