²² So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

The Scriptures Opened

⁴⁴ Then He said to them, ^(A)“These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.”

²³ And he came and dwelt in a city called ^(A)Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled ^(B)which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.”

¹⁵ And he said: ^(A)“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who ^(B)spoke with His mouth to my father David, and with His hand has fulfilled it, saying,

²⁴ You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.

³⁵ that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:

¹⁸ But ^(A)those things which God foretold ^(B)by the mouth of all His prophets, that the Christ would suffer, He has thus fulfilled.

³⁶ For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, ^(A)“Not one of His bones shall be broken.” ³⁷ And again another Scripture says, ^(B)“They shall look on Him whom they pierced.”

⁹ that the saying might be fulfilled which He spoke, ^(A)“Of those whom You gave Me I have lost none.”

¹² While I was with them ^[a]in the world, ^(A)I kept them in ^[b]Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and ^(B)none of them is ^[c]lost ^(C)except the son of ^[d]perdition, ^(D)that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
