Ispitirea lui Isus Hristos
4 Atunci, Isus(A) a fost dus de Duhul(B) în pustie, ca să fie ispitit de Diavolul. 2 Acolo a postit patruzeci de zile şi patruzeci de nopţi; la urmă a flămânzit. 3 Ispititorul s-a apropiat de El şi i-a zis: „Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, porunceşte ca pietrele acestea să se facă pâini”. 4 Drept răspuns, Isus i-a zis: „Este scris: ‘Omul nu trăieşte numai(C) cu pâine, ci cu orice cuvânt care iese din gura lui Dumnezeu’.” 5 Atunci, Diavolul L-a dus în sfânta cetate(D), L-a pus pe streaşina Templului 6 şi I-a zis: „Dacă eşti Fiul lui Dumnezeu, aruncă-Te jos, căci este scris: ‘El va porunci îngerilor Săi(E) să vegheze asupra Ta; şi ei Te vor lua pe mâini, ca nu cumva să Te loveşti cu piciorul de vreo piatră’.” 7 „De asemenea, este scris”, a zis Isus: „‘Să nu ispiteşti(F) pe Domnul, Dumnezeul tău’.” 8 Diavolul L-a dus apoi pe un munte foarte înalt, I-a arătat toate împărăţiile lumii şi strălucirea lor şi I-a zis: 9 „Toate aceste lucruri Ţi le voi da Ţie, dacă Te vei arunca cu faţa la pământ şi Te vei închina mie”. 10 „Pleacă, Satano”, i-a răspuns Isus. „Căci este scris: ‘Domnului, Dumnezeului tău(G) să te închini şi numai Lui să-I slujeşti’.” 11 Atunci, Diavolul L-a lăsat. Şi deodată au venit la Isus nişte îngeri(H) şi au început să-I slujească.
Isus la Capernaum
12 Când a auzit(I) Isus că Ioan fusese închis, a plecat în Galileea. 13 A părăsit Nazaretul şi a venit de a locuit în Capernaum, lângă mare, în ţinutul lui Zabulon şi Neftali,
14 ca să se împlinească ce fusese vestit prin prorocul Isaia, care zice:
15 „Ţara(J) lui Zabulon şi ţara lui Neftali,
înspre mare, dincolo de Iordan,
Galileea neamurilor,
16 Norodul(K) acesta, care zăcea în întuneric,
a văzut o mare lumină;
şi peste cei ce zăceau în ţinutul şi în umbra morţii,
a răsărit lumina.”
17 De atunci(L) încolo, Isus a început să propovăduiască şi să zică: „Pocăiţi-vă,(M) căci Împărăţia cerurilor este aproape”.
Isus cheamă patru ucenici
18 Pe când trecea pe lângă Marea Galileii, Isus(N) a văzut doi fraţi: pe Simon, zis(O) Petru, şi pe fratele său Andrei, care aruncau o mreajă în mare; căci erau pescari. 19 El le-a zis: „Veniţi(P) după Mine şi vă voi face pescari de oameni”. 20 Îndată,(Q) ei au lăsat mrejele şi au mers după El. 21 De acolo(R) a mers mai departe şi a văzut pe alţi doi fraţi: pe Iacov, fiul lui Zebedei, şi pe Ioan, fratele lui, care erau într-o corabie cu tatăl lor, Zebedei, şi îşi cârpeau mrejele. El i-a chemat. 22 Şi îndată, ei au lăsat corabia şi pe tatăl lor şi au mers după El.
Isus învaţă pe popor şi tămăduieşte pe bolnavi
23 Isus străbătea toată Galileea, învăţând(S) pe norod în sinagogi, propovăduind Evanghelia(T) Împărăţiei şi tămăduind(U) orice boală şi orice neputinţă care erau în norod. 24 I s-a dus vestea în toată Siria; şi aduceau la El pe toţi cei ce sufereau de felurite boli şi chinuri: pe cei îndrăciţi, pe cei lunatici şi pe cei slăbănogi, şi El îi vindeca. 25 După El au mers(V) multe noroade din Galileea, din Decapole, din Ierusalim, din Iudeea şi de dincolo de Iordan.

Tentación de Jesús(A)
4 Luego Jesús fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto, para ser tentado por el diablo.(B) 2 Después de haber ayunado cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, tuvo hambre. 3 El tentador se le acercó, y le dijo: «Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se conviertan en pan.» 4 Jesús respondió: «Escrito está: No sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.»(C) 5 Entonces el diablo lo llevó a la santa ciudad, lo puso sobre la parte más alta del templo, 6 y le dijo: «Si eres Hijo de Dios, lánzate hacia abajo; porque escrito está:
»“A sus ángeles mandará alrededor de ti”,(D)
y también:
“En sus manos te sostendrán,
Para que no tropieces con piedra alguna.”»(E)
7 Jesús le dijo: «También está escrito: “No tentarás al Señor tu Dios”.»(F) 8 De nuevo el diablo lo llevó a un monte muy alto. Allí le mostró todos los reinos del mundo y sus riquezas, 9 y le dijo: «Todo esto te daré, si te arrodillas delante de mí y me adoras.» 10 Entonces Jesús le dijo: «Vete, Satanás, porque escrito está: “Al Señor tu Dios adorarás, y a él sólo servirás.”»(G) 11 Entonces el diablo lo dejó, y unos ángeles vinieron y lo servían.
Jesús principia su ministerio(H)
12 Cuando Jesús se enteró de que Juan estaba preso,(I) volvió a Galilea, 13 pero se retiró de Nazaret y se estableció en Cafarnaún,(J) ciudad marítima en la región de Zabulón y de Neftalí, 14 para que se cumpliera lo dicho por el profeta Isaías:
15 «Tierra de Zabulón y tierra de Neftalí,
Camino del mar, al otro lado del Jordán,
Galilea de los gentiles;
16 El pueblo asentado en tinieblas vio gran luz;
a los que vivían en región de sombra de muerte,
les resplandeció la luz.»(K)
17 Desde entonces Jesús comenzó a predicar, y decía: «Arrepiéntanse, porque el reino de los cielos(L) se ha acercado.»(M) 18 Mientras Jesús caminaba junto al lago de Galilea, vio a dos hermanos, Simón, llamado Pedro, y Andrés, que estaban echando la red al agua, pues eran pescadores. 19 Jesús les dijo: «Síganme, y yo haré de ustedes pescadores de hombres.» 20 Ellos entonces, dejando al instante las redes, lo siguieron. 21 Un poco más adelante, Jesús vio a otros dos hermanos, Jacobo y Juan, hijos de Zebedeo, quienes estaban en la barca, junto a su padre, y remendaban sus redes. Jesús los llamó, 22 y ellos, dejando al instante la barca y a su padre, lo siguieron.
23 Jesús recorría toda Galilea. Enseñaba en las sinagogas de ellos, predicaba el evangelio del reino, y sanaba toda enfermedad y toda dolencia en el pueblo.(N) 24 Su fama se difundió por toda Siria, así que le llevaron a todos los que tenían dolencias, a los que sufrían de diversas enfermedades y tormentos, y a los endemoniados, lunáticos y paralíticos; y él los sanó. 25 Y lo seguía mucha gente de Galilea, de Decápolis, de Jerusalén, de Judea y del otro lado del Jordán.

4 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.

5 Then the devil took Him up (E)into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, 6 and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down. For it is written:

Jesus Begins His Galilean Ministry(M)
12 (N)Now when Jesus heard that John had been put in prison, He departed to Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying:
15 “The(O) land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,
By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan,
Galilee of the Gentiles:
16 (P)The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light,
And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death
Light has dawned.”
17 (Q)From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, (R)“Repent, for the kingdom of heaven [c]is at hand.”
Four Fishermen Called as Disciples(S)
18 (T)And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon (U)called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. 19 Then He said to them, “Follow Me, and (V)I will make you fishers of men.” 20 (W)They immediately left their nets and followed Him.
21 (X)Going on from there, He saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them, 22 and immediately they left the boat and their father, and followed Him.
Jesus Heals a Great Multitude(Y)
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, (Z)teaching in their synagogues, preaching (AA)the gospel of the kingdom, (AB)and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. 24 Then [d]His fame went throughout all Syria; and they (AC)brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them. 25 (AD)Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from [e]Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan.
