⁶ because he did not know what to say, for they were greatly afraid.

¹⁷ And ^(A)when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But ^(B)He laid His right hand on me, saying ^[a]to me, “Do not be afraid; ^(C)I am the First and the Last.

^5 (A)And entering the tomb, they saw a young man clothed in a long white robe sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed.

^6 (B)But he said to them, “Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him. ⁷ But go, tell His disciples—and Peter—that He is going ^[a]before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, ^(C)as He said to you.”

⁸ So they went out ^[b]quickly and fled from the tomb, for they trembled and were amazed. ^(D)And they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid.

¹⁵ When he had spoken such words to me, ^(A)I ^[a]turned my face toward the ground and became speechless. ¹⁶ And suddenly, ^(B)one having the likeness of the ^[b]sons of men ^(C)touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke, saying to him who stood before me, “My lord, because of the vision ^(D)my sorrows have ^[c]overwhelmed me, and I have retained no strength. ¹⁷ For how can this servant of my lord talk with you, my lord? As for me, no strength remains in me now, nor is any breath left in me.”

¹⁸ Then again, the one having the likeness of a man touched me and strengthened me. ^19 (E)And he said, “O man greatly beloved, ^(F)fear not! Peace be to you; be strong, yes, be strong!”

So when he spoke to me I was strengthened, and said, “Let my lord speak, for you have strengthened me.”
