Jesus Walks on the Water
45 (A)Immediately he (B)made his disciples get into (C)the boat and go before him to the other side, (D)to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. 46 And after he had taken leave of them, (E)he went up on the mountain to pray. 47 And when (F)evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 48 And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about (G)the fourth watch of the night[a] he came to them, walking on the sea. (H)He meant to pass by them, 49 but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out, 50 for they all saw him and (I)were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, (J)“Take heart; it is I. (K)Do not be afraid.” 51 And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded, 52 for (L)they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts (M)were hardened.

About peri the fourth tetartos watch phylakē of the ho night nyx he came erchomai toward pros them autos, walking peripateō on epi the ho lake thalassa. · kai He intended thelō to pass parerchomai by them autos, 49 but de when they ho saw him autos walking peripateō on epi the ho lake thalassa, they thought dokeō that hoti he was eimi a ghost phantasma. And kai they cried anakrazō out , 50 for gar they all pas saw him autos and kai were terrified tarassō. But de immediately he ho spoke laleō with meta them autos and kai said legō to them autos, “ Take courage tharseō! It is eimi I egō. Do not mē be afraid phobeomai!” 51 Then kai he got anabainō into eis the ho boat ploion with pros them autos, and kai the ho wind anemos died kopazō down . And kai they were absolutely lian ek amazed existēmi, 52 for gar they did not ou understand syniēmi about epi the ho loaves artos; but alla their autos heart kardia was eimi · ho hardened pōroō.
