⁴ Then Jesus said to them, “Prophets are not without honor, except in their hometown and among their own kin and in their own house.”^(A)

⁴⁴ (for Jesus himself had testified that a prophet has no honor in the prophet’s own country).^(A)

²⁴ And he said, “Truly I tell you, no prophet is accepted in his hometown.^(A)

⁵⁷ And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, “Prophets are not without honor except in their own hometown and in their own house.”^(A)

²¹ Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the people of Anathoth who seek your life and say, “You shall not prophesy in the name of the Lord, or you will die by our hand”^(A)—
