^16 (A)But when Herod heard, he said, “This is John, whom I beheaded; he has been raised from the dead!”

^10 (A)And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, ^(B)and send gifts to one another, ^(C)because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

The Witnesses Resurrected

^11 (D)Now after the three-and-a-half days ^(E)the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² And ^[a]they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” ^(F)And they ascended to heaven ^(G)in a cloud, ^(H)and their enemies saw them. ¹³ In the same hour ^(I)there was a great earthquake, ^(J)and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid ^(K)and gave glory to the God of heaven.

⁹ Herod said, “John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things?” ^(A)So he sought to see Him.

⁴ saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”

And they said, “What is that to us? You see to it!”

² and said to his servants, “This is John the Baptist; he is risen from the dead, and therefore these powers are at work in him.”

¹⁰ and in the vine were three branches; it was as though it budded, its blossoms shot forth, and its clusters brought forth ripe grapes. ¹¹ Then Pharaoh’s cup was in my hand; and I took the grapes and pressed them into Pharaoh’s cup, and placed the cup in Pharaoh’s hand.”
