¹⁸ As he was getting into the boat, the man who had been possessed by demons begged him that he might be with him.

³⁸ The man from whom the demons had gone out begged that he might be with him, but Jesus^[a] sent him away, saying, ³⁹ “Return to your home, and declare how much God has done for you.” So he went away, proclaiming throughout the city how much Jesus had done for him.

²³ I am hard pressed between the two: my desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better,^{(A) 24} but to remain in the flesh is more necessary for you.

¹⁷ Then they began to beg Jesus^[a] to leave their neighborhood.^(A)

⁴² Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come in^[a] your kingdom.” ⁴³ He replied, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.”^(A)

⁷ and he shouted at the top of his voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.”^(A)

¹⁵ Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice.^{(A) 16} He prostrated himself at Jesus’s^[a] feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan.^{(B) 17} Then Jesus asked, “Were not ten made clean? So where are the other nine?
