Jesus Heals a Paralytic

2 When he returned to Capernaum after some days, it was reported that he was at home.

⁴⁷ When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.^(A)

The Syrophoenician Woman’s Faith

²⁴ From there he set out and went away to the region of Tyre.^[a] He entered a house and did not want anyone to know he was there. Yet he could not escape notice,

⁴⁵ But he went out and began to proclaim it freely and to spread the word, so that Jesus^[a] could no longer go into a town openly but stayed out in the country, and people came to him from every quarter.^(A)

9 ¹ And after getting into a boat he crossed the sea and came to his own town.^(A)

Jesus Heals a Blind Beggar Near Jericho

³⁵ As he approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. ³⁶ When he heard a crowd going by, he asked what was happening. ³⁷ They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth^[a] is passing by.” ³⁸ Then he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”^(A)

¹⁸ Just then some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a stretcher. They were trying to bring him in and lay him before Jesus,^[a]

⁶ And at this sound the crowd gathered and was bewildered, because each one heard them speaking in the native language of each.
