33 And when the sixth hour was come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour. 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? 35 And some of them that stood by, when they heard it, said, Behold, he calleth Elias. 36 And one ran and filled a spunge full of vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him to drink, saying, Let alone; let us see whether Elias will come to take him down. 37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost. 38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom. 39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; 41 (who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathæa, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard that, said, “Look, He is calling for Elijah!” 36 Then (D)someone ran and filled a sponge full of sour wine, put it on a reed, and (E)offered it to Him to drink, saying, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to take Him down.”
37 (F)And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last.
38 Then (G)the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 So (H)when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that [a]He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!”
40 (I)There were also women looking on (J)from afar, among whom were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joses, and Salome, 41 who also (K)followed Him and ministered to Him when He was in Galilee, and many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem.

35 Some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, “Listen, He is calling Elijah!”
36 One man ran and filled a sponge with vinegar, put it on a stick, and gave it to Him to drink, saying, “Leave Him alone. Let us see if Elijah will come to take Him down.”
37 But Jesus cried with a loud voice and gave up the spirit.
38 And the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. 39 When the centurion[b] who stood facing Him saw that He cried out and gave up the spirit, he said, “Truly, this Man was the Son of God.”
40 There were also women looking on from a distance, among whom were Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the Less and of Joseph, and Salome. 41 They also had followed Him and had ministered to Him when He was in Galilee. And many other women who came up with Him to Jerusalem were there.

42 When the evening had come, because it was the Day of Preparation, that is, the day before the Sabbath, 43 Joseph of Arimathea, an honorable member of the Council, who also waited for the kingdom of God, came and went in boldly to Pilate, and requested the body of Jesus.

33 Cuando vino la hora sexta, hubo tinieblas sobre toda la tierra hasta la hora novena. 34 Y a la hora novena Jesús clamó a gran voz, diciendo: Eloi, Eloi, ¿lama sabactani? que traducido es: Dios mío, Dios mío, ¿por qué me has desamparado?(A) 35 Y algunos de los que estaban allí decían, al oírlo: Mirad, llama a Elías. 36 Y corrió uno, y empapando una esponja en vinagre, y poniéndola en una caña, le dio a beber,(B) diciendo: Dejad, veamos si viene Elías a bajarle. 37 Mas Jesús, dando una gran voz, expiró. 38 Entonces el velo(C) del templo se rasgó en dos, de arriba abajo. 39 Y el centurión que estaba frente a él, viendo que después de clamar había expirado así, dijo: Verdaderamente este hombre era Hijo de Dios.
40 También había algunas mujeres mirando de lejos, entre las cuales estaban María Magdalena, María la madre de Jacobo el menor y de José, y Salomé, 41 quienes, cuando él estaba en Galilea, le seguían y le servían;(D) y otras muchas que habían subido con él a Jerusalén.
