²⁸ and they said to him, ^(A)“By what authority are you doing these things, or who gave you this authority to do them?”

¹⁴ He answered, ^(A)“Who made you a prince and a judge over us? Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian?” Then Moses was afraid, and thought, “Surely the thing is known.”

^51 (A)“You stiff-necked people, ^(B)uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ^(C)As your fathers did, so do you.

³⁸ This is the one ^(A)who was in the congregation in the wilderness with ^(B)the angel who spoke to him at Mount Sinai, and with our fathers. ^(C)He received ^(D)living ^(E)oracles to give to us. ³⁹ Our fathers refused to obey him, but thrust him aside, and ^(F)in their hearts they turned to Egypt,

²⁷ But the man who was wronging his neighbor thrust him aside, saying, ^(A)‘Who made you a ruler and a judge over us? ²⁸ Do you want to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’

¹³ Is it ^(A)a small thing that you have brought us up out of ^(B)a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that you must also ^(C)make yourself a prince over us?

^3 (A)They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron and said to them, ^(B)“You have gone too far! For ^(C)all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord?”
