Mark 7:14-16 King James Version (KJV)

14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand:

15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man.

16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.

Mark 7:14-16 Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

14 And He called the people to [Him] again and said to them, Listen to Me, all of you, and understand [what I say].

15 There is not [even] one thing outside a man which by going into him can pollute and defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him and make him unhallowed and unclean.

16 [a]If any man has ears to hear, let him be listening [and let him [b]perceive and comprehend by hearing].

Mark 7:14-16 Living Bible (TLB)

14 Then Jesus called to the crowd to come and hear. “All of you listen,” he said, “and try to understand. 15-16 [a]Your souls aren’t harmed by what you eat, but by what you think and say!”*

Footnotes:

  1. Mark 7:15 Many of the ancient manuscripts add v. 16: “If any man has ears to hear, let him hear.” Your souls aren’t harmed by what you eat, but by what you think and say, literally, “What proceeds out of the man defiles the man.”
