26 How he entered into the house of God [a]when Abiathar was high priest, and ate the showbread, which it is not lawful to eat save for the priests, and gave also to them that were with him? 27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 so that the Son of man is lord even of the sabbath.

26 In the days of Abiathar the high priest,(A) he entered the house of God and ate the consecrated bread, which is lawful only for priests to eat.(B) And he also gave some to his companions.”(C)
27 Then he said to them, “The Sabbath was made for man,(D) not man for the Sabbath.(E) 28 So the Son of Man(F) is Lord even of the Sabbath.”
