¹⁹ I will give you ^(A)the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and ^(B)whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed^[a] in heaven.”

¹⁷ If he refuses to listen to them, ^(A)tell it to the church. And if he refuses to listen even to the church, ^(B)let him be to you as ^(C)a Gentile and ^(D)a tax collector. ¹⁸ Truly, I say to you, ^(E)whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed^[a] in heaven.

²¹ Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As ^(A)the Father has sent me, ^(B)even so I am sending you.” ²² And when he had said this, he ^(C)breathed on them and said to them, ^(D)“Receive the Holy Spirit. ^23 (E)If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you withhold forgiveness from any, it is withheld.”

⁶ For such a one, ^(A)this punishment by the majority is enough, ⁷ so ^(B)you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. ⁸ So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him.
