⁵¹ And when he came to the house, he allowed no one to enter with him, except ^(A)Peter and ^(B)John and James, and the father and mother of the child.

The Transfiguration

^28 (A)Now about eight days after these sayings he took with him ^(B)Peter and John and James and ^(C)went up on the mountain to pray.

³³ And he took with him ^(A)Peter and James and John, and began ^(B)to be greatly distressed and troubled.

The Lord's Prayer

⁵ “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love ^(A)to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. ^(B)Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. ⁶ But when you pray, ^(C)go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. ^(D)And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

⁴ Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.” ⁵ So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her. ⁶ When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another.” Then the oil stopped flowing.

¹⁹ And he said to her, “Give me your son.” And he took him from her arms and carried him up into the upper chamber where he lodged, and laid him on his own bed. ²⁰ And he cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, have you brought calamity even upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by killing her son?” ^21 (A)Then he stretched himself upon the child three times and cried to the Lord, “O Lord my God, let this child's life^[a] come into him again.” ²² And the Lord listened to the voice of Elijah. And the life of the child came into him again, and ^(B)he revived. ²³ And Elijah took the child and brought him down from the upper chamber into the house and delivered him to his mother. And Elijah said, “See, your son lives.”

⁴⁰ But Peter ^(A)put them all outside, and ^(B)knelt down and prayed; and turning to the body ^(C)he said, “Tabitha, arise.” And she opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter she sat up.

¹⁴ Simon, ^(A)whom he named Peter, and ^(B)Andrew his brother, and ^(C)James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew,

³⁷ And he allowed no one to follow him except ^(A)Peter and James and ^(B)John the brother of James. ³⁸ They came to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and Jesus^[a] saw a commotion, people weeping and wailing loudly. ³⁹ And when he had entered, he said to them, ^(C)“Why are you making a commotion and weeping? The child is not dead but ^(D)sleeping.” ⁴⁰ And they laughed at him. But he ^(E)put them all outside and took the child's father and mother and those who were with him and went in where the child was.
