The Parable of the Revealed Light^(A)

^16 (B)“No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lampstand, that those who enter may see the ^(C)light.

The Lamp of the Body^(A)

^33 (B)“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a ^(C)basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light.

^18 (A)to open their eyes, in order ^(B)to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, ^(C)that they may receive forgiveness of sins and ^(D)an inheritance among those who are ^(E)sanctified^[a] by faith in Me.’

Light Under a Basket^(A)

^21 (B)Also He said to them, “Is a lamp brought to be put under a basket or under a bed? Is it not to be set on a lampstand? ^22 (C)For there is nothing hidden which will not be revealed, nor has anything been kept secret but that it should come to light.

²⁰ The ^[a]mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are ^(A)the ^[b]angels of the seven churches, and ^(B)the seven lampstands ^[c]which you saw are the seven churches.

The Loveless Church

2 “To the ^[d]angel of the church of Ephesus write,

‘These things says ^(C)He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, ^(D)who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands:

¹⁵ that you may become blameless and ^[a]harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as ^(A)lights in the world, ¹⁶ holding fast the word of life, so that ^(B)I may rejoice in the day of Christ that ^(C)I have not run in vain or labored in ^(D)vain.

¹⁵ Nor do they ^(A)light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. ¹⁶ Let your light so shine before men, ^(B)that they may see your good works and ^(C)glorify your Father in heaven.

⁴ These are the ^(A)two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the ^[a]God of the earth.
