Jesus Heals a Man on the Sabbath

(A)Now it happened that on another Sabbath He entered (B)the synagogue and was teaching; and there was a man there [a]whose right hand was withered. And the scribes and the Pharisees (C)were watching Him closely to see if He heals on the Sabbath, so that they might find reason to accuse Him. But He (D)knew [b]what they were thinking, and He said to the man with the withered hand, “Get up and [c]come forward!” And he stood up and [d]came forward. And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to destroy it?” 10 And after (E)looking around at them all, He said to him, “Stretch out your hand!” And he did so, and his hand was restored. 11 But they themselves were filled with [e]rage, and were discussing together what they might do to Jesus.

On another Sabbath(A) he went into the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was shriveled. The Pharisees and the teachers of the law were looking for a reason to accuse Jesus, so they watched him closely(B) to see if he would heal on the Sabbath.(C) But Jesus knew what they were thinking(D) and said to the man with the shriveled hand, “Get up and stand in front of everyone.” So he got up and stood there.

Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, which is lawful on the Sabbath: to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?”

10 He looked around at them all, and then said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” He did so, and his hand was completely restored. 11 But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law were furious(E) and began to discuss with one another what they might do to Jesus.
