⁸ I tell you ^(A)that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

²³ Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for ^(A)He who promised is faithful. ²⁴ And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, ^25 (B)not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and ^(C)so much the more as you see ^(D)the Day approaching.

The Just Live by Faith

²⁶ For ^(E)if we sin willfully ^(F)after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there ^(G)no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,

^9 (A)“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. ¹⁰ And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. ¹¹ Then ^(B)many false prophets will rise up and ^(C)deceive many. ¹² And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow ^(D)cold. ^13 (E)But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

⁸ But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and ^(A)a thousand years as one day. ^9 (B)The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but ^(C)is longsuffering toward ^[a]us, ^(D)not willing that any should perish but ^(E)that all should come to repentance.

^26 (A)And as it ^(B)was in the ^(C)days of ^(D)Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: ²⁷ They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the ^(E)day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and ^(F)destroyed them all. ^28 (G)Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; ²⁹ but on ^(H)the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man ^(I)is revealed.

³ By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction ^[a]does not slumber.

Rich Oppressors Will Be Judged

5 Come now, you ^(A)rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! ² Your ^(B)riches ^[a]are corrupted, and ^(C)your garments are moth-eaten. ³ Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. ^(D)You have heaped up treasure in the last days. ⁴ Indeed ^(E)the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and ^(F)the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of ^[b]Sabaoth. ⁵ You have lived on the earth in pleasure and ^[c]luxury; you have ^[d]fattened your hearts ^[e]as in a day of slaughter. ⁶ You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you.

Be Patient and Persevering

⁷ Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. ⁸ You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord ^[f]is at hand.
