⁴⁷ And ^(A)that servant who ^(B)knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.

¹⁷ Therefore, ^(A)to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.

^22 (A)If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, ^(B)but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (C)He who hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them ^(D)the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have ^(E)seen and also hated both Me and My Father.

⁴¹ Jesus said to them, ^(A)“If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.

² then it shall be, if the wicked man ^(A)deserves to be beaten, that the judge will cause him to lie down ^(B)and be beaten in his presence, according to his guilt, with a certain number of blows. ^3 (C)Forty blows he may give him and no more, lest he should exceed this and beat him with many blows above these, and your brother ^(D)be humiliated in your sight.

^48 (A)He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—^(B)the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

³⁰ Truly, ^(A)these times of ignorance God overlooked, but ^(B)now commands all men everywhere to repent,

^12 [a]But I say to you that ^(A)it will be more tolerable in that Day for Sodom than for that city.

Woe to the Impenitent Cities^(B)

^13 (C)“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! ^(D)For if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. ¹⁴ But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you. ^15 (E)And you, Capernaum, ^[b]who are ^(F)exalted to heaven, ^(G)will be brought down to Hades.

¹⁵ For we are to God the fragrance of Christ ^(A)among those who are being saved and ^(B)among those who are perishing. ^16 (C)To the one we are the aroma of death leading to death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And ^(D)who is sufficient for these things?
