The Parable of the Rich Fool

^13 (A)Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

⁵ and constant friction among people ^(A)who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, ^(B)imagining that godliness is a means of gain.

^45 (A)The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces ^(B)evil, ^(C)for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

^31 (A)And they come to you as people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear what you say but they will not do it; for ^(B)with lustful talk in their mouths they act; their heart is set on their gain.

¹⁸ Now when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles' hands, he offered them money, ¹⁹ saying, “Give me this power also, so that anyone on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”
