¹⁹ Behold, ^(A)I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

^18 (A)they^[a] will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; ^(B)they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

²⁰ And ^(A)the God of peace ^(B)will crush Satan under your feet shortly.

^(C)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

⁵ But he shook off the creature into the fire and ^(A)suffered no harm.

⁵ And if anyone wants to harm them, ^(A)fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. ^(B)And if anyone wants to harm them, he must be killed in this manner.

¹⁷ And ^(A)you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. ^18 (B)But not a hair of your head shall be lost.

⁶ “And you, son of man, ^(A)do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words, though ^(B)briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; ^(C)do not be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, ^(D)though they are a rebellious house.

⁵ Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, ^(A)“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” ⁶ So we may boldly say:

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(A)If God is for us, who can be against us? ^32 (B)He who did not spare His own Son, but ^(C)delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? ^(D)It is God who justifies. ^34 (E)Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, ^(F)who is even at the right hand of God, ^(G)who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written:
