Jesus rejected at Nazareth
14 Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread through the whole countryside. 15 He was teaching in their synagogues, and everyone praised him.
16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, 17 and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.’[a]
20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 He began by saying to them, ‘Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.’

14 예수님이 성령님의 능력을 받아 갈릴리로 돌아오시자 이 소문이 사방에 퍼졌다.
15 예수님은 여러 회당에서 가르치시며 모든 사람에게 영광을 받으셨다.
16 예수님은 자라나신 고향 나사렛으로 가셔서 전에 하시던 대로 안식일에 회당에 들어가셨다. 그리고 성경을 읽으려고 일어나서
17 이사야의 예언서를 받아 이렇게 쓰인 곳을 찾아 읽으셨다.
18 [a]“주께서 나를 성령으로 충만하게 하셨으니 가난한 사람에게 기쁜 소식을 전하게 하시려고 [b]나를 택하여 보내셨다. 그가 나를 보내신 것은 [c]마음 상한 자를 고치고 포로에게 자유를 선포하며 눈먼 사람을 다시 보게 하고 짓눌린 사람을 풀어 주며
19 주께서 은혜 베푸실 때를 전파하도록 하기 위해서이다.”
20 예수님이 그 책을 덮어 회당 직원에게 되돌려 주고 앉으시자 그 곳에 모였던 사람들의 눈길이 다 예수님에게로 쏠렸다.
21 그때 예수님은 그들에게 “이제 읽은 성경 말씀이 오늘날 너희에게 이루어졌다” 하고 말씀하셨다.
