⁴⁰ The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.^(A)

¹⁶ Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master,^(A) nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.

²⁰ Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’^[a](A) If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.^(B) If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.
