The Grain Offering

14 “Now this is the law of the grain offering: Aaron’s sons will present it before the Lord in front of the altar. 15 The priest is to remove a handful of fine flour and olive oil from the grain offering, with all the frankincense that is on the offering, and burn its memorial portion on the altar as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Leviticus 7:12 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

12 If he presents it for thanksgiving, in addition to the thanksgiving sacrifice,[a] he is to present unleavened cakes mixed with olive oil, unleavened wafers coated with oil, and well-kneaded cakes of fine flour mixed with oil.

Footnotes:

  1. Leviticus 7:12 The thanksgiving sacrifice is the first of three kinds of fellowship sacrifices. It was given to express gratitude to God (Jr 33:11) in circumstances such as answered prayer (Ps 50:14-15) or safe travel (Ps 107:22-25).
