47 “When a garment has [a]a mark of leprosy in it, whether it is a wool garment or a linen garment, 48 whether in [b]warp or [c]woof, of linen or of wool, whether in leather or in any article made of leather, 49 if the [d]mark is greenish or reddish in the garment or in the leather, whether in the [e]warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, it is a leprous [f]mark and it shall be shown to the priest. 50 Then (A)the priest shall look at the mark and shall [g]quarantine the article with the mark for seven days. 51 He shall then look at the mark on the seventh day; if the mark has spread in the garment, whether in the [h]warp or in the woof, or in the leather, whatever the purpose for which the leather is used, the mark is a [i]leprous malignancy, it is unclean. 52 So he shall burn the garment, whether it is the [j]warp or the woof, in wool or in linen, or any article of leather, in which the mark occurs; for it is a [k]leprous malignancy. It shall be burned in the fire.

53 “But if the priest looks, and indeed the mark has not spread in the garment, either in the [l]warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, 54 then the priest shall order them to wash the thing in which the mark occurs, and he shall [m]quarantine it for seven more days. 55 After the article with the mark has been washed, the priest shall again look, and if the mark has not changed its appearance, even if the mark has not spread, it is unclean; you shall burn it in the fire, whether an eating away has produced bareness on the back or on the front of it.

56 “But if the priest looks, and indeed the mark has faded after it has been washed, then he shall tear it out of the garment or out of the leather, whether from the [n]warp or from the woof; 57 yet if it appears again in the garment, whether in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, it is an outbreak; the article with the mark shall be burned in the fire. 58 But the garment, whether the warp or the woof, or any article of leather from which the mark has disappeared when you washed it, shall then be washed a second time and will be clean.”

59 This is the law for the mark of leprosy in a garment of wool or linen, whether in the warp or in the woof, or in any article of leather, for pronouncing it clean or unclean.

Regulations About Contaminated Fabrics

47 “And when the garment has[a] an infectious skin disease[b] on it, on a wool garment[c] or on a linen garment,[d] 48 or on woven material or on a linen fabric, or[e] on wool or on leather or on any work of leather, 49 and if the infection is yellowish green or reddish on the garment or on the leather or on the woven material or on the fabric or on any leather object,[f] it is an infectious skin disease[g] and it shall be shown to the priest. 50 And the priest shall examine the infection, and he shall confine the infected article for seven days. 51 And he shall examine the infection on the seventh day; if the infection has spread on the garment or on the woven material or on the fabric or on the leather, for any work for which the leather is used, the infection is a destructive skin disease[h]—it is unclean. 52 And he shall burn the garment or the woven material or the fabric, whether wool or linen,[i] or any leather object that has[j] the infection, because it is an infectious skin disease,[k] which is destructive—it must be burned in the fire.

53 “But[l] if the priest examines it[m] and if[n] the infection has not spread on the garment or on the woven material or on the fabric or on any leather object, 54 then[o] the priest shall command, and someone[p] shall wash that on which the infection is, and he shall confine it a second time for seven days. 55 And the priest shall examine it[q] after the infection has been washed off, and if[r] the infection has not changed its outward appearance and the infection has not spread, it is unclean; he must burn it in the fire; it is a fungus on its back or on its front. 56 But[s] if the priest examines it[t] and if[u] the infection is faded after it has been washed off, then[v] he shall tear it from the garment or from the leather or from the woven material or from the fabric. 57 And if it appears again on the garment or on the woven material or on the fabric or on any leather object, it is spreading; you[w] must burn in the fire that which has the infection in it. 58 And the garment or the woven material or the fabric or any leather object that he might wash and the infection is removed from them then[x] shall be washed a second time, and it shall be clean.”

59 This is the regulation of the infectious skin disease[y] in[z] the wool garment or the linen or the woven material or the fabric or any leather object to declare it clean or to declare it unclean.
