Punishment for Disobeying the Lord
The Lord said:
14-15 (A) If you disobey me and my laws, and if you break our agreement, 16 I will punish you terribly, and you will be ruined. You will be struck with incurable diseases and with fever that leads to blindness and depression. Your enemies will eat the crops you plant, 17 and I will turn from you and let you be destroyed by your attackers. You will even run at the very rumor of attack.

15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws(A) and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant,(B) 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever(C) that will destroy your sight and sap your strength.(D) You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it.(E) 17 I will set my face(F) against you so that you will be defeated(G) by your enemies;(H) those who hate you will rule over you,(I) and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.(J)

15 And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:
16 I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.
17 And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you.
