⁴² For they are my servants whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves are sold.

⁵⁵ For to me the Israelites are servants; they are my servants whom I brought out from the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

²² But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the fruit you have leads to sanctification, and the end is eternal life.^(A)

²¹ Were you a slave when called? Do not be concerned about it. Even if you can gain your freedom, make the most of it.^{[a] 22} For whoever was called in the Lord as a slave is a freed person belonging to the Lord, just as whoever was free when called is a slave belonging to Christ.^{(A) 23} You were bought with a price; do not become slaves of humans.^(B)
