¹⁸ And he shall go out to the altar that is before the Lord, and make atonement for ^(A)it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

⁷ And the priest shall ^(A)put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of sweet incense before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour ^(B)the remaining blood of the bull at the base of the altar of the burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

⁷ who, in the days of His flesh, when He had ^(A)offered up prayers and supplications, ^(B)with vehement cries and tears to Him ^(C)who was able to save Him from death, and was heard ^(D)because of His godly fear, ⁸ though He was a Son, yet He learned ^(E)obedience by the things which He suffered.

¹⁶ So he shall ^(A)make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions, for all their sins; and so he shall do for the tabernacle of meeting which remains among them in the midst of their uncleanness.

¹⁸ And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar which is before the Lord, which is in the tabernacle of meeting; and he shall pour the remaining blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering, which is at the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

¹⁰ And ^(A)Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonement; once a year he shall make atonement upon it throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.”

²² And according to the law almost all things are ^[a]purified with blood, and ^(A)without shedding of blood there is no ^[b]remission.

Greatness of Christ’s Sacrifice

²³ Therefore it was necessary that ^(B)the copies of the things in the heavens should be ^[c]purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

¹¹ For ^(A)both He who ^[a]sanctifies and those who are being sanctified ^(B)are all of one, for which reason ^(C)He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

¹⁹ And ^(A)for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.

^25 (A)The priest shall take some of the blood of the sin offering with his finger, put it on the horns of the altar of burnt offering, and pour its blood at the base of the altar of burnt offering.
