¹⁸ Then he shall go out to the altar that is ^(A)before the Lord and ^(B)make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.

⁷ And the priest ^(A)shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar of fragrant incense before the Lord that is in the tent of meeting, and ^(B)all the rest of the blood of the bull he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

⁷ In the days of his flesh, ^(A)Jesus^[a] offered up prayers and supplications, ^(B)with loud cries and tears, to him ^(C)who was able to save him from death, and ^(D)he was heard because of his reverence. ⁸ Although ^(E)he was a son, ^(F)he learned obedience through what he suffered.

¹⁶ Thus he shall ^(A)make atonement for the Holy Place, because of the uncleannesses of the people of Israel and because of their transgressions, all their sins. And so he shall do for the tent of meeting, which dwells with them in the midst of their uncleannesses.

¹⁸ And he shall put some of the blood on the horns of the altar that is in the tent of meeting before the Lord, and the rest of the blood he shall pour out at the base of the altar of burnt offering that is at the entrance of the tent of meeting.

^10 (A)Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year. With the blood of the ^(B)sin offering of atonement he shall make atonement for it once in the year throughout your generations. It is most holy to the Lord.”

²² Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and ^(A)without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins.

²³ Thus it was necessary for ^(B)the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

¹¹ For ^(A)he who sanctifies and ^(B)those who are sanctified ^(C)all have one source.^[a] That is why he is not ashamed to call them ^(D)brothers,^[b]

¹⁹ And ^(A)for their sake ^(B)I consecrate myself,^[a] that they also ^(C)may be sanctified^[b] in truth.
