24 So the woman gave birth to a son, and named him Samson; and the (A)child grew up and the Lord blessed him. 25 And (B)the Spirit of the Lord began to stir him when he was in [a](C)Mahaneh-dan, between Zorah and Eshtaol.

Samson’s Marriage

14 Then Samson went down to Timnah, and he saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines. So he came [b]back and told his father and [c]mother, “I saw a woman in Timnah, one of the daughters of the Philistines; so now, get her for me as a wife.” But his father and his mother said to him, “Is there no woman among the daughters of your (D)relatives, or among all [d]our people, that you go to (E)take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” Yet Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, because she is right [e]for me.” However, his father and mother did not know that (F)this was of the Lord, for He was seeking an occasion against the Philistines. And at that time the Philistines were ruling over Israel.
