³²The Asherites lived among the Canaanite inhabitants of the land because they did not drive them out.

³⁴They did not destroy the peoples,
as the Lord had commanded them,^(A)
³⁵but they mingled with the nations
and learned to do as they did.^(B)

as the Lord had commanded^(B) them,

and adopted their customs.
