Contend for the Faith

³ Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you ^(A)concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting ^(B)you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.

¹² Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Striving and Suffering for Christ

²⁷ Only ^(A)let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, ^(B)with one mind ^(C)striving together for the faith of the gospel,

Maintain Your Life with God

²⁰ But you, beloved, ^(A)building yourselves up on your most holy faith, ^(B)praying in the Holy Spirit,

⁴ To ^(A)Titus, a true son in our common faith:

Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and ^[a]the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior.

¹¹ And ^(A)they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, ^(B)and they did not love their lives to the death.

^10 (A)Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. ^(B)Be faithful until death, and I will give you ^(C)the crown of life.

Be Loyal to the Faith

^13 (A)Hold fast ^(B)the pattern of ^(C)sound words which you have heard from me, in faith and love which are in Christ Jesus.

Fight the Good Fight

¹⁸ This ^[a]charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

⁵ to whom we did not yield submission even for an hour, that ^(A)the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
