Caleb Inherits Hebron

⁶ Then the children of Judah came to Joshua in Gilgal. And Caleb the son of Jephunneh the ^(A)Kenizzite said to him: “You know ^(B)the word which the Lord said to Moses the man of God concerning ^(C)you and me in Kadesh Barnea.

^14 (A)Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this day, because he ^(B)wholly followed the Lord God of Israel.

Caleb Occupies Hebron and Debir^(A)

^13 (B)Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of ^(C)Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, ^(D)Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron (Arba was the father of Anak).

¹⁷ So ^(A)Othniel the ^(B)son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him ^(C)Achsah his daughter as wife.

^56 (A)But the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
