⁹ and said to the men, “I know that the Lord has given you the land, ^(A)and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land ^(B)melt away before you.

²⁷ I will send ^(A)my terror before you and will throw into ^(B)confusion all the people against whom you shall come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

²⁵ This day I will begin to put ^(A)the dread and fear of you on the peoples who are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of you and shall tremble and be in anguish because of you.’

By Faith

11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of ^(A)things not seen. ² For by it the people of old received their commendation.

⁵ “It is I who ^(A)by my great power and my outstretched arm ^(B)have made the earth, with the men and animals that are on the earth, ^(C)and I give it to whomever it seems right to me.

¹² Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and ^(A)prolongs his life, yet I know that ^(B)it will be well with ^(C)those who fear God, because they fear before him.

¹¹ And ^(A)as soon as we heard it, ^(B)our hearts melted, and there was no spirit left in any man because of you, for ^(C)the Lord your God, he is God in the heavens above and on the earth beneath.
