⁴ We^[a] must work the works of him who sent me^[b] while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.^(A)

³⁵ Jesus said to them, “The light is in you^[a] for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.

¹⁶ making the most of the time, because the days are evil.^(A)

³⁴ Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to complete his work.^(A)

⁹ Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours of daylight? Those who walk during the day do not stumble because they see the light of this world. ¹⁰ But those who walk at night stumble because the light is not in them.”

¹⁰ Whatever your hand finds to do, do with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in Sheol, to which you are going.^(A)

¹⁰ So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all and especially for those of the family of faith.^(A)

⁵ Conduct yourselves wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time.^[a](A)

⁴ I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do.^(A)

²⁰ for we cannot keep from speaking about what we have seen and heard.”^(A)
