⁴⁹ Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon, but I honor my Father, and you dishonor me.

²³ When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly.^(A)

⁴ I glorified you on earth by finishing the work that you gave me to do.^(A)

¹³ I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

The New Commandment

³¹ When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.^{(A) 32} If God has been glorified in him,^[a] God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once.

⁴ But when Jesus heard it, he said, “This illness does not lead to death; rather, it is for God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”^(A)

²⁹ And the one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to him.”^(A)

¹⁵ But Jesus answered him, “Let it be so now, for it is proper for us in this way to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he consented. ¹⁶ And when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw God’s Spirit descending like a dove and alighting on him.^{(A) 17} And a voice from the heavens said, “This is my Son, the Beloved,^[a] with whom I am well pleased.”^(B)
