¹⁶ Yet even if I do judge, ^(A)my judgment is true, for ^(B)it is not I alone who judge, but I and the Father^[a] who sent me.

²⁹ And ^(A)he who sent me is with me. ^(B)He has not left me alone, for ^(C)I always do the things that are pleasing to him.”

³¹ because he has fixed ^(A)a day on which ^(B)he will judge the world ^(C)in righteousness by a man whom he has appointed; and ^(D)of this he has given assurance to all ^(E)by raising him from the dead.”

³² Behold, ^(A)the hour is coming, indeed it has come, when ^(B)you will be scattered, each to his own home, and ^(C)will leave me alone. ^(D)Yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me.

^22 (A)For the Father judges no one, but ^(B)has given all judgment to the Son, ²³ that all may honor the Son, just as they ^(C)honor the Father. ^(D)Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him. ²⁴ Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(E)whoever hears my word and ^(F)believes him who sent me has eternal life. He ^(G)does not come into judgment, but ^(H)has passed from death to life.

²⁵ “Truly, truly, I say to you, ^(I)an hour is coming, and is now here, when ^(J)the dead will hear ^(K)the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear ^(L)will live. ^26 (M)For as the Father has life in himself, ^(N)so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. ²⁷ And he ^(O)has given him authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man. ²⁸ Do not marvel at this, for ^(P)an hour is coming when ^(Q)all who are in the tombs will hear his voice ²⁹ and come out, ^(R)those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Witnesses to Jesus

^30 (S)“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and ^(T)my judgment is just, because ^(U)I seek not my own will ^(V)but the will of him who sent me.

⁷ But the Lord said to Samuel, ^(A)“Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, ^(B)but the Lord looks on the heart.”

The Rider on a White Horse

¹¹ Then I saw ^(A)heaven opened, and behold, ^(B)a white horse! The one sitting on it is called ^(C)Faithful and True, and ^(D)in righteousness he judges and makes war.

The Coming King of Zion

^5 (A)“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous ^(B)Branch, and ^(C)he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. ⁶ In his days Judah will be saved, and ^(D)Israel will ^(E)dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ^(F)‘The Lord is our righteousness.’
